ParkerSteel, a leading UK steel stockholder, moved one step closer to greener operations this year by going paperless for their deliveries. Instead of providing a paper delivery note with each order, their customers can access them digitally by logging into their personal accounts on ParkerSteel's website.
This change to their delivery process was easily implemented with no negative impact on customers or employees, but a significantly positive impact on the environment. Each year, this practice will save over 300,000 pieces of paper each year: the equivalent of 75 trees!
In the UK alone, we use over 9.9 million tonnes of paper every year, and the average office worker uses up to 45 pieces of paper daily. Not only is this irresponsible to the environment, but it is also an outdated method of working. Switching to a digital workflow wherever possible has been proven to increase productivity and efficiency and provide greater security for important files and data.
